The Get Up Kids There Are Rules (2011) |
The Get Up Kids are a Kansas City-based American rock band. They debuted in 1995, and in 1996 released their first single on the band's own label, Huey Proudhon Records. In 1997, Four Minute Mile, their debut full-length, was released and immediately garnered attention. They spent the following two years touring with bands such as The Promise Ring and Jimmy Eat World. In September of 1999, The Get Up Kids released Something To Write Home About. Their first for punk label Vagrant Records, the album marked a major step into bringing post-emo indie rock to the mainstream.
