Survivor is the third studio album by American girl group Destiny's Child, released by Columbia on May 1, 2001 in United States. The album involves production by Beyoncé and J.R. Rotem with additional production from Poke & Tone, Cory Rooney and Mark J. Feist. Survivor spawned four singles, including the number one-hits "Bootylicious" and "Independent Women Part 1", the Beyoncé-penned "Survivor" and a cover of The Bee Gees' ballad "Emotion".

The album debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart on May 19, 2001 with first-week sales of a staggering 663,000 units and stayed at number one for two weeks straight. It earned Destiny's Child three Grammy nominations for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Album. Survivor was certified quadruple Platinum by the RIAA on January 7, 2002. Billboard magazine ranked Survivor at number 70 on the magazine's Top 200 Albums of the Decade.

Rock Steady is the fifth album by American rock band No Doubt. It was released on December 11, 2001 on Interscope Records. The band began writing the album with initial recording sessions in Los Angeles and San Francisco, then traveled to London and Jamaica to work with various performers, songwriters, and producers. Sly & Robbie, The Neptunes, and William Orbit were among the many artists the band collaborated with on the album.

As a result of these collaborations, Rock Steady touches on many musical styles, focusing on dub, synthpop, and dance styles more so than in the past. The band attempted to capture the vibe of Jamaican dance hall music, and experimented with writing songs without its standard instrumentation. Singer Gwen Stefani wrote her lyrics quickly in comparison to previous records, and dealt with topics ranging from partying to ruminations on her relationship with Gavin Rossdale.

Rock Steady received mostly positive reviews from music critics, and it was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 45th Grammy Awards. The album was a commercial comeback for the band, surpassing sales of their previous offering, Return of Saturn, released in 2000. Rock Steadys pawned four singles, two of which won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Rolling Stone ranked Rock Steady number 316 on its 2003 list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time".

Muse - Origin of Symmetry [2001]

Origin of Symmetry is the second studio album by English alternative rock band Muse, released on 17 July 2001 by Taste Records. Recording took place at Ridge Farm Studios in Surrey and Real World Studio in Wiltshire, and additional recordings were made at Astoria Studios, Richmond Studios and Abbey Road Studios in London and Sawmills Studio in Fowey, Cornwall. The album was mixed at Sawmills and mastered at Sony Music Studios in London. Origin of Symmetry was produced by David Bottrill, John Leckie (who previously worked on the band's first album, Showbiz) and the band themselves. In the UK it reached #3 and was certified platinum. The title for the album comes from a concept put forward by Michio Kaku in his book Hyperspace.

International Superhits! is a compilation album by the American punk rock band Green Day. It was released on November 13, 2001 through Reprise Records. It contains the major singles that the band has released, from Dookie (1994), their major label debut, up to their most recent album at the time, Warning (2000). It also includes two previously unreleased tracks, "Maria" and Poprocks & Coke". It also contains "J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva)", a single released on the Angus soundtrack in 1995, not appearing on any of Green Day's albums.

International Superhits! was released simultaneously with the International Supervideos! DVD, which had music videos for many of the songs on International Superhits!.

The album reached #40 in the US and #15 in the UK upon its release, International Superhits! has sold 1,896,000 in the US as of September 2010 where it went platinum and over 3,000,000 worldwide. It has continued to be a popular release, being critically well-received.

International Superhits! was reissued on vinyl for the first time in the U.S. on August 11, 2009.
